Manufacturing is entering a new era. Factories are becoming more connected and automated, but they also face growing demands for flexibility, efficiency and resilience. That is the challenge we aim to address.
Our 30-month journey officially began in June 2026, bringing together 13 partners from six European countries to accelerate the adoption of next-generation 6G technologies in industrial manufacturing.
At PRIME-6G, we are developing, testing and validating an integrated platform that brings together 6G connectivity, AI, cloud-edge computing, robotics and real-time sensing. Our goal is to demonstrate how these technologies can work together seamlessly, reliably and in real time to make manufacturing smarter, more flexible and more resilient.
We will develop and validate our technologies at partner laboratories in Madrid (at NEXTONIC) and Munich (at Siemens Advanced Group Facility), before integrating selected components into a TRL 6–7 demonstrator at ARENA2036 in Stuttgart, where we will test our platform in a real-world manufacturing environment.
Our work is structured around two complementary industrial use cases:
AURORA — Advanced Unified Robotics Operations via Resilient Automation – explores how deterministic 6G connectivity, AI-driven network management and intelligent edge computing can support more agile and autonomous industrial operations.
SENTINEL — Sensing-Enhanced Network Twin for Intelligent Environments in Manufacturing — explores how multi-sensor fusion and Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC) can create real-time digital twins of dynamic industrial environments, improving situational awareness, robot coordination and operational safety.
Together, they will demonstrate how these technologies can work together to create smarter, more connected, and autonomous factories.
